SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGER

30-37 hours per week

All year round

Requirement to travel between Trust schools.

A vacancy has arisen for a School Business Partner to work at our Trust Central Offices with a committed team of professionals.  

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.

The role of The School Business Partner is to provide an external Business Partner approach, which will focus on working with school, leads (Principals, admin teams, LGB’s) to provide a professional, efficient and accurate management of financial services centrally and across the Venturers Trust. To monitor and link with school based administrators to ensure the finance department is providing a reliable financial service across the Trust.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent Evidence of some training in accountancy or finance
  • Relevant qualifications to finance, e.g. AAT Level 4 Evidence of further training in finance, accountancy and/or ICT
  • Full driving licence with access to a vehicle to access Trust sites (mileage reimbursed)
  • Experience of working within a similar supervisory role.
  • Experience of working within an education setting.
  • Previous experience of working with budgets Experience with accounting procedures in schools reporting to the ESFA
